Thanksgiving Service Report
At 2pm on Saturday 2nd September, a congregation of around 80 from far and wide gathered to give thanks for the provision of the church building in Aberdeen.
The Rev Harry Woods (Moderator of the Inverness Presbytery) then opened in prayer for the proceedings and the work of the congregation from the new building in the days and years ahead. Rev Tim McGlynn then gave a short account of the events surrounding the purchase of the building in Mastrick, highlighting the journey the congregation has been on over the last 17 years as well as some of the more recent history, concerning the purchase of the building we gave thanks for that day.
Rev Maurice J Roberts preached from Titus 2:11-12 with clarity and sincerity, challenging the congregation to uphold true religion and live lives of holiness.
Following the benediction everyone gathered for a group photograph to give a pictorial record of the day and then a buffet was provided for all those who had gathered. As the ladies of the congregation set to work ensuring all went smoothly, the guests enjoyed the good things provided and a time of fellowship.
Rev M Macleod (Snizort) and Rev McGlynn (Aberdeen) preached to the congregation from Numbers 2 and Hebrews 13:13 respectively on Sunday. The Lord had been in the midst throughout all that was done and to Him be all the glory and praise.
