On day three in Andhra Pradesh, a calmer day was had, with plans for an 'open-air' meeting at 8.30pm in the evening.
Rev McGlynn preached for an hour on the sufferings of Christ. Many sought prayer afterwards, a sure indication of God's Word being appreciated. While the circumstances have been extremely different and unusual for a Scottish Presbyterian, the folk who have gathered for conferences and sermons have shown an appreciation and hunger for the Word. Mr McGlynn plans to fly back to Delhi on Monday, before flying back to Aberdeen via London on Tuesday. Pray for a safe journey and mental refreshement. After a frantic day at the Pastors' Conference on Tuesday (14th), Wednesday continued in the same vein in Andhra Pradesh! After a period of morning worship at 10am, the final talk of the '5 Solas' was given by Rev McGlynn, covering the topic 'God's Glory Alone.' After lunch, two further lectures were given for the Pastors; firstly on 'Preaching the Gospel,' and secondly, after another time of worship, on 'Pastoring the flock of God.' Following that, the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper was held amongst those present, which was concluded with an extended time of prayer. It was noted today that over 150 were in attendance, which is an amazing number and a token from God of his blessing on this trip. As well as the Pastors, many women and children were also in attendance, bringing to numbers to around or over 200. In the evening, after a good break, Rev McGlynn preached a gospel message from 9pm to 10.30pm. He noted via email that despite an exhausting schedule, that it was a blessed time. Continue to remember the Conference in your prayers. After flying into Andhra Pradesh yesterday to a very warm welcome, the Pastors' conference started in Andhra Pradesh today, where by the end of the day, 127 Pastors had gathered to hear the lectures for the day. After worship and prayer, Rev McGlynn spoke on his topics for the day, the 'Five Solas.' Four of the 'Solas' (Grace, Faith, Christ, Scripture) were taken in a hour slots, between 11am and 5pm, with breaks in-between each session. Tomorrow, the final talk (to God's Glory alone) will be given. Positive feedback was passed on through Pastor Prasad, the conference host, which has been a real encouragement. Following the closing worship, a visit to the orphanage is planned, having stopped by briefly on Monday. Last Autumn, our Minister was contacted by a Pastor from India, with an invitation to come and speak at a Pastors' Conference in January. The congregation of the Pastor is also involved in an orphanage, for which a special collection was held towards the end of last year. Last Friday, despite a slightly nervous delay for the Visa, Mr McGlynn jetted off to New Delhi initially, before flying today to Andhra Pradesh, on the South East coast of India. The Pastors' Conference will commence tomorrow at 10am, and will continue until the end of the week. As a church, we've been blessed with men who have been well taught, so it is a privilege & responsibility to share that.
