Last Sunday (12th May) we gathered to wish one of our friends God's blessing as he moves back to familiar territory to take up a new job. After another lovely fellowship lunch, Kevin did the honours of cutting his farewell cake! We're thankful to God for fellowship and wish him well in his new venture.
A fellowship lunch will be held this Sunday after the morning service to say a 'cheerio' to one of our members who is moving away to take up a new job and the students going back home for the summer months.
We look forward to seeing you there. We've been grateful to God over the last few weeks for the help of two of our brethren for pulpit supply while our own minister was presiding over communions in Edinburgh and Arran. Mr Glen Fraser from the Inverness congregation helped out as well as Rev Craig Dennison, who has recently taken up a new role with the TBS (Trinitarian Bible Society). Mr Dennison shared a little of the main thrust of the work of the TBS and some of the future ventures they'll undertake after the service in the evening. Their primary work of translation is well worth remembering.
In between that, we welcomed the Rev Harry Woods for our communion weekend. Mr Woods' message on Sunday included a helpful survey of some of the key events at the cross and our need to focus not on the physical, but the spiritual aspect of Christ's sufferings for us. We were appreciative of Mr Woods' comments about the warmth of the congregation and he encouraged us to maintain it. We welcome back our own Minister this weekend. |
